New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal and his team met President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday over possibilities of forming the government in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party also “apprised the President on how the BJP was trying to cobble up a majority through horse trading.”
At the same time AAP demanded immediate dissolution of the Delhi Assembly in the memorandum that it submitted to Pranab Mukherjee. Kejriwal told reporters after the meet that the President had promised to think over what they had said.
Later official Twitter handle of AAP posted the following - “AAP MLAs met honourable President and apprised him of desperate attempts being made by the BJP to cobble up a majority through horse trading.”

AAP is said to be in favour of fresh Assembly elections in the national capital. They have been accusing BJP of trying to break their party for a while now. However, the BJP has denied the allegations.
With three BJP legislators being elected to the Lok Sabha, the strength of the Delhi Assembly has come down to 67. The party`s number has also come down to 28 from the earlier 31. A lone Akali Dal legislator is on its side, as per IANS.
Delhi has been under Presidential rule since February 17 after Kejriwal resigned as CM over the stalling of the Jan Lokpal bill in the Assembly.
No party in the capital, where the assembly is currently under suspended animation, has staked claim to form the government and this might pave the way for fresh elections.
