New Delhi: The Delhi Police, which is solely responsible for maintaining law and order in the national capital, has one more job these days – searching nine buffaloes.
Although its difficult to believe, it is true that Delhi Police, these days, is involved in tracing nine stolen buffaloes belonging to an affluent dairy owner in Outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar.
Media reports, Thursday, said that a special team of Delhi has recently conducted raids at several places in and outside Delhi, which includes Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, in search of the buffaloes.
The special team, consisting ten members of Delhi Police, has even checked at least 100 buffaloes in the past three months of their search for the missing buffaloes.
And, if it is not enough, the officials of the Delhi Police even click pictures and share them with the dairy owner and complainant, Satish Kumar, on WhatsApp for verification when they come across buffaloes.
Kumar has even met Delhi Police chief BS Bassi after the local police failed to achieve any breakthrough in the case. At the request of Kumar, who has reportedly suffered huge losses after his favourite milk-yielding buffaloes went missing, Bassi had even directed the top officials of the Delhi Police to look into the matter.
In his complaint with Delhi Police, Kumar had claimed that some unidentified men stole his buffaloes on the night of May 16 after overpowering his guard Chaman.
Earlier, UP minister Azam Khan’s stolen buffaloes have given sleepless night to the UP Police.
