Unnao: Forty-seven children were on Saturday hospitalised when some students were taken ill after consuming mid-day meals (MDM) at a primary school in Ajgain area, an education department official said.
Some children were taken ill and complained of vomiting after eating the food served under mid-day meal at the primary school in Sunderpur village in Hassanganj tehsil, District Basic Education Officer Mukesh Kumar Singh said.
He said a team was sent and all 47 students were admitted to community health center at Nawabganj from where they were released after treatment.
Singh said a sample of food served has been taken and a case has been lodged against the cook.
Chief Medical Officer Geeta Yadav said prima facie it seemed to be the case of food poisoning.
