COVID: After Bhutan, Maldives, India to export vaccines to Nepal, Bangladesh

The consignment of COVID-19 vaccines for NEpal and Bangladesh arrived at Mumbai International Airport. India had announced a vaccine rollout for Bhutan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Seychelles. The first vaccine lots were sent to Bhutan and the Maldives on Wednesday.

This state to give free tablets to class 8-12 students of government schools

Haryana government has decided to give tablets free of cost to students of Class 8 to 12 of government schools. The government has decided to distribute free tablets to students on the lines of the library scheme. The tablets will be the property of government.

No social, religious programmes in Uttar Pradesh till Sept-end: CM Adityanath

Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Avanish Kumar Awasthi, said Yogi Adityanath in a meeting with senior officers told the district magistrates to not give permission for religious or public programmes till September 30. The state government had also instructed officials to ensure that the restrictions, including closure of markets on Saturday and Sunday, were strictly implemented, Awasthi added. The administration has also asked for carrying out an intensive cleanliness, sanitization and fogging drive in all districts during the weekly closure of the markets.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee tests positive for coronavirus COVID-19

Former President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday (August 10) tweeted that he has tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19, requesting people who have come in contact with him in the last week to self-isolate. Mukherjee, who was India's president between 2012 and 2017, said that he tested positive for COVID-19 on a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19," tweeted the 84-year-old Congress leader.

Delhi HC asks for new rules to include COVID testing of mentally ill homeless

A division bench suggested the Delhi government and Centre that even if homeless people don`t have any identity proofs, some mechanism should be developed to at least provide them testing facility. After making the observation, the High Court granted time to the counsels and posted the matter for August 7 to take instructions and resolves the issue.
