Sanju Samson's craze in Kerala and his home country is well known in the minds of cricket fans. During a Ranji Trophy game between Kerala and Uttar Pradesh, Samson made some time to meet his fans at the Sanatana Dharma College Ground. In a video shared by the official handle of Rajasthan Royals (RR), Samson is seen meeting and greeting a specially-abled fan post-game - gifting him a Royals cap and taking a picture with him.

The match between Kerala and Uttar Pradesh concluded in a draw. Uttar Pradesh batted first, amassing 302 runs in 83.4 overs. In response, the home team was dismissed for 243. Uttar Pradesh declared their second innings at 323 runs, with captain Aryan Juyal (115) and former captain Priyam Garg (106) both scoring centuries, setting a target of 383 runs for Kerala.

In the pursuit, the hosts reached 72 for 2 when the match was eventually called off. Uttar Pradesh secured three points due to their first-innings lead, while Kerala earned just one point.

Star India batter, Shreyas Iyer is set to play for Mumbai in their second round fixture of the Ranji Trophy 2024 against Andhra Pradesh beginning on Friday ahead of the home Test series against England.

Iyer's joining is a boost for Mumbai, which will be missing Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube. Sarfaraz is part of India A's two-day tour game against the England Lions in Ahmedabad on January 12-13, while Dube has returned to India's T20I squad for the Afghanistan series.
