Samastipur Lok Sabha Constituency, is one of 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in the eastern state of Bihar and will cast its vote in the 2019 election on April 29.

Samastipur registered 60.74 per cent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 3.39 per cent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1677662 while the total voter turnout is 1019044. While in 2014, the constituency registered 57.35 per cent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1503413 while the total voter's turnout was 862269.

Dr. Ashok Kumar of Indian National Congress, Mantesh Kumar of Bahujan Samaj Party and Ramchandra Paswan of Lok Jan Shakti Party are some of the prominent names that will contest the Lok Sabha election 2019 from Samastipur Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar.

Voting for Lok Sabha election in Bihar was held in all the seven phases and counting will be held on May 23.

Samastipur constituency covers six assembly segments –  Kusheshwar Asthan, Hayaghat, Kalyanpur, Warisnagar, Samastipur and Rosera.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Ram Chandra Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) – won by getting a margin of just over 6 thousand votes. He had defeated Dr. Ashok Kumar of the Indian National Congress. Paswan had secured 270401 votes while Ashok Kumar got 263529 votes.
