Heavy rain continues to disrupt life in Chennai; waterlogging at several places

Maduravoyal: Heavy rain caused water logging in Chennai on Thursday and it continued to disrupt normal lives.
Water has entered houses and vehicles got submerged in the rain water.
"We lost all our valuable items and have only managed to save our lives," said Shanmughan, a Chennai resident.
In Tamil Nadu, rain has stopped in most parts of the state. This has helped relief measures by the administration.
The Met office has, however, forecast that rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in the state for the next four days.
The well-marked low pressure lying over west Bay of Bengal and Andhra coast will bring in isolated rainfall in north Tamil Nadu.
Chief Minister Jayalaithaa has announced four lakh rupees each for the families of those who died in rain-related incidents.
Due to the incessant rainfall, the death toll has increased to 87.
