Hardeep Puri, Kerala CM Vijayan arrive at Kozhikode plane crash site

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan visited the injured who are admitted to hospitals in Malappuram and Kozhikode. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan to told media that 18 people have died in the crash which includes 14 adults and 4 children. 149 injured are undergoing treatment in hospital and 23 people have been discharged, said CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DG), Civil Aviation Ministry senior officials, Airports Authority of India, and Air Navigation Service members will meet in Delhi on Saturday over the plane crash. As per the latest updates, 18 people, including both the pilot and the co-pilot, have been killed while 127 have been injured in the deadly aviation disaster. The Air India Express flight from Dubai with 190 onboard overshot and fell 35 metres off the end of the runway at the Kozhikode airport.

Centre orders inquiry into Air India Express plane crash at Kozhikode airport

The Centre late on August 7 (Friday) evening ordered a probe into the Air India Express plane crash at Kozhikode airport in Kerala that killed at least 16 people. It ordered the probe into the accident saying that two teams of professionals from the Air India, AAI and AAIB will conduct a detailed investigation. The AAIB is a division of the Civil Aviation Ministry which investigates aircraft accidents and incidents in India.

Unaccompanied kid found at Kerala airport after Air India Express plane crash

Former IAF pilot flying Air India Express plane killed in Kozhikode crash

Former Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Deepak Vasant Sathe, who was flying the Air India Express plane, was killed on Friday evening in the Kozhikode crash in Kerala. A former IAF Wing Commander, Captain Sathe was commissioned into service on June 11, 1981, and retired on June 30, 2003. He flew through the Airbus 310 for Air India before moving to Air India Express on the Boeing 737.

Air India Express plane with 190 onboard skids on runway at Kerala airport

An Air India Express plane with 184 people on board on Friday skid on the runway of the Kozhikode airport in Kerala. The pilot died in the accident. The flight, IX-1344, bound for Kozhikode from Dubai skidded during landing at the Karipur Airport at around 7.45 pm, said the Kondotty Police.
