WhatsApp to announce its updated Terms of Service soon, it might be optional

The latest update allows users to choose between ‘review’ or ‘not now’ if they see a pop up with updated terms. WhatsApp's newly packaged Terms of Service revealed that the company would share select user data with advertisers and if any of the users choose to decline, then they will lose the messaging service. The report further showed that WhatsApp would reveal this new change about the Terms of Service “very soon."

WhatsApp privacy policy update: How will this new policy affect me?

WhatsApp has said that after giving everyone time to review the privacy policy from May 15, after a period of several weeks, the reminder people receive will eventually become persistent. After persistent reminders, the users will encounter limited functionality on WhatsApp until they accept the updates. This limited functionality means that first users will only lose access to the chat list but they would be able to answer incoming calls and can reply to messages also.

This alert is only for those who haven’t yet accepted its new terms of service already and it is for both iOS and Android users. The website’s screenshot revealed that the company is sending alerts to some of its users again about its privacy policy which will come into effect on May 15 and before that they need to accept the changed terms and conditions. WhatsApp had already clarified that the chats on the platform will be end-to-end encrypted and it will also become easier to chat with businesses and it is also making it optional for users to opt in to this service.
