New Delhi: Instant messaging app WhatsApp has released some new updates to its users on iPhone.

The new update also lets WhatsApp voice messages to play even if users switch to another app. The voice message continues even if the users turns his/her iphone’s screen off.

Users with devices running iOS 7.0 or more can download the updated v2.18.40 version of the app for iPhone to get the new changes.

WABetaInfo a fan website that tracks upcoming WhatsApp features, on Sunday said that WhatsApp is rolling several other features like “Dark mode, Touch ID, polls in groups, pinned messages, username to hide the phone number and new groups with 4096 participants for all iOS, Android, Windows Phone users” soon.

WhatsApp last week rolled out a new feature in a Beta update allowing users to migrate their data to a new number without much trouble. The that will soon enable iOS, Android and Windows Phone

The new "Change Number" feature update is currently available in the 2.18.97 Android beta update on Google Play Store. It will come in iOS and Windows devices later, WABetaInfo said.

The user can now choose if he/she wants to notify some or all of his/her contacts. WhatsApp user will have to select the "Change Number" option in their app settings and then account option.

Once the user has inserted the existing old and new phone numbers, WhatsApp will ask which contacts should be notified about the new number. After the migration, in the recipient's phone, all shared messages in the old chat will be transferred in the new one and in the chat will appear a new bubble, indicating that the user has a new number, WABetaInfo said.
