Makhdumpur Assembly constituency is part of Jahanabad district of Bihar and belongs to the Jahanabad Parliamentary seat). The Election Commission had in 2014 identified a total of 2,10,506 people as eligible voters this constituency. In the last Assembly polls, as a member of the JD (U), Jitan Ram Manjhi had won the Makhdumpur seat. He had polled a total of 38,463 votes and had defeated RJD's Dharmraj Paswan. Subedar Das of RJD and Arun Kumar of BJP are key candidates here. Nonhi, Sulemanpur, Maniyawan, Pinjaura, Dedhsaiya, Nerthua, Amthua and Badhauna gram panchayats of Koka community development block and Makhdumpur community development block comprises of this constituency. Makhdumpur constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs).
