There are very few people in this world who are endowed with probably everything one can ask for – amazingly charming looks, lots and lots of money, a successful career and the entire nation willing to read anything that has just their name in it.
The harsh reality of life is that what’s not ours might be someone else’s and there is one such man – Salman Khan – who according to me has “almost” everything one can dream of.
Whatever he does is sure to catch the attention of a million ogling eyes, which thoroughly scan every segment of the newspaper and every channel on the television to just get a glimpse of this charmer. Along with having an immensely successful career and a loving family, Salman has left no stone unturned in helping the poor and those who are in dire need of help.
However, there is one such area which he has no control over and can do absolutely nothing about despite his high-profile contacts and elite status – his love life. The moment he is spotted with a girl, it sends rumour mills buzzing about his relationship status with the mystery beauties.
Not only do people have fun making such baseless stories, even the readers love seeing Salman’s name being linked to a random female. In the past, Salman has had high profile affairs with beauties like Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali, Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif. The interesting thing about it is that whenever people talk about Salman’s romantic past, there is always a mention of how close he was to getting married to each of these ladies.
I fail to understand why India is so very obsessed with Salman’s marriage? I mean it is okay that Indians in general are very fixated with the idea of marriage. The moment a girl finishes college and a guy gets a job, the entire society creates a ruckus about a suitable match, the right age to start a family and blah blah blah.
What if somebody is not interested in getting married? What if somebody doesn’t want to settle down just for the heck of it? What if somebody wants to consider all the pros and cons before taking this huge step? These logical questions have no place in the Indian society, where marriage is more of a compromise and something the entire family gets overly involved in.
Even though Salman Khan is probably one of the biggest stars in Bollywood now, this doesn’t give anybody the liberty to start weaving random tales about his marriage. What if somebody starts poking their nose in everything a normal individual does? Even the way they brush their teeth or look right after hopping out of bed? It’s sure to make anyone feel like punching such people in their faces for not minding their own business.
Well, it would really help if people put themselves in Salman’s shoes and then think how they would feel and react if every other girl they’re spotted with becomes their prospective wife. When I begin to imagine what it would be like for Salman to go through such a lot of drama regarding his marriage, I feel bad for the guy. Even though he has been raised to the status of a demi-God, this doesn’t mean he can’t have girl-friends.
What people need to realise is that there are bigger problems to think about and tackle other than irritating the poor man and constantly worrying about his marriage. He is a mature adult with common sense and knows what he wants to do with his own life. I mean, come on! Everybody has the right to live their life the way they want to.
People, grow up. Leave the guy alone. He has the right to do whatever he wants to and whenever he wants to. It is his life, and nobody else’s, so stop trying to control it. People should instead go and get a grip of what’s happening in their own lives. Doesn’t anyone have anything interesting left in their lives that they have to snoop around others’ private matters?
To think of it in the other way, what would happen even if he were to get married? Will it be beneficial to anyone in any way? No! Then it’s better to stop being obsessed about it unnecessarily. The amount of effort people put into linking him with anybody could actually solve so many issues between countries!
Open your eyes... Do what requires your attention and efforts, and leave Salman Khan alone!
