Ayushmann Khurrana's Badhaai Ho emerges as big favourite at ticket window, crosses 50 crore in 5 days

New Delhi: Bollywood's talented find, Ayushmann Khurrana's recent films—'Andhadun' and 'Badhaai Ho' have proved to be safe bets for the actor. Both have worked well—all thanks to positive word of mouth publicity and brilliant scripts. The success of these movies proves that at the end of the day, content is still the king.

'Badhaai Ho' which released on October 18, 2018, saw a positive first day, earning Rs 7.25 crore at the Box Office. The film maintained the pace at ticket windows and went on to collect over Rs 50 crore within five days of its release. 'Badhaai Ho' is Ayushmann's second film after 'Andhadhun' to score successive half century in just two weeks.

Trade analyst Joginder Tuteja took to Twitter and shared the latest figures. He wrote, "...and #BadhaaiHo crosses 50 crore in 5 days. 2nd successive half century by @ayushmannk in just two weeks (after #Andhadhun). Maidaan mein taaliyon ki ghargharaahat! Ab dekhna yeh hai ki kya ballebaaz apna shatak laga paate hain! Jis form mein woh hain, aisa zaroor hona chahiye!"

The film has also suceeded in showing its charm internationally. As per noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Badhaai Ho' opened up to Rs 16.54 cr internationally.

It is great to see Ayushmann back with a film that subtly discusses issues that people refrain from talking in public. From 'Vicky Donor' in 2012 to 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' in 2015, from 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' to 'Shubh Mangal Savdhan', Ayushmann has been a part of coming-of-age films.

Sanya, on the other hand, has had a great film journey so far. From 'Dangal' to 'Patakha' and now 'Badhaai Ho', the curly-haired beauty has proved that she is here to play very long innings.

The film is helmed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and is a comedy drama which presents a coming-of-age story. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta in pivotal parts. The film hit the screens on October 19, 2018, facing box office clash with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra's 'Namaste England'.
