Padmavati's loss is 'Firangi' Kapil Sharma's gain?

New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati' is embroiled in a controversy where protestors have wreaked havoc over alleged 'distortion of historical facts' in the film.

Amidst all of this hullabaloo, the film's release date has been officially pushed ahead with no new date announced as of now. Bhansali's ambitious project was earlier scheduled to hit the screen on December 1, 2017, and now that slot is technically free.

So, the buzz is that Kapil Sharma's 'Firangi' might make use of that free slot. According to Dnaindia.com, the ace comedian turned actor's film is scheduled to release on November 24, 2017, but the team might have a change of heart.

The report quotes a source as saying, “The film has been sent to the CBFC (Central Board Of Film Certification), but it has not been certified yet. The certification might happen today. In that case, the film will stick to its original release date (November 24). But now that Padmavati has moved, the producers are also thinking about taking up the vacant December 1 slot.”

No official statment has beeb made regarding the change in release date of Firangi as yet.
