DS unveils a compact sedan designed specifically for China

At this year's Guangzhou International Motor Show DS, which is French automaker PSA's premium brand, unveiled a new compact hatchback adapted to the Chinese market, the DS 4S.

The DS 4S has an imposing radiator grille with the DS symbol in the center, and is equipped with LED modules and taillights. Inside, this sedan has a handmade red leather dashboard. There are three gasoline engine options, from 136 to 204HP, all of which have the latest EAT6 automatic gearbox. The PureTech turbo engine is included for the first time in DS models in China.

This new model will be sold exclusively in China, from the first half of 2016. At the Guangzhou International Motor Show, the DS 4S was displayed along with the DS4 and the DS4 Crossback compacts -- which were also on show at Frankfurt, Germany in September 2015 -- and the new DS 5, DS 5 LS and DS 6.

Meanwhile competing French automakers Renault displayed its Kadjar model, which is expected to be available in China's showrooms from March 2016. This compact SUV has a panoramic sunroof, a 4x4 chassis and high-tech features such as a parking assistance and the R-Link multimedia system.

Kadjar will be produced entirely in China, in the new Wuhan plant operated by the joint venture between Dongfeng and Renault. Actress Fan Bingbing is the ambassador of Kadjar in China.
