New Delhi: The Duster, a humble re-badged compact SUV from Renault’s subsidiary Dacia, has made what Renault is today in India, and is even one of the company’s most successful vehicles in Europe

Dacia and Renault are cooking up the second generation Duster and a lot is riding on it to step into the shoes of the current model. This probably is the first spied image of the next-generation Duster that everyone has been waiting for. The picture reveals the brand new steering wheel of the 2017 Dacia Duster, which will certainly be carried forward in Renault's version of it in many countries, just like the current generation model.

Deducing from the image which was revealed by a Romanian auto website (Dacia is also a Romanian automaker), Dacia has, quite obviously, spruced up the cabin. The very utilitarian dashboard of the current Duster has been criticised around the world. The new steering wheel may be of a similar size, but looks polished and premium. The horn pad in the new four-spoke unit has been shifted to the center and it is expected to have its infotainment unit controls on the steering wheel instead of the mounted ones in the ongoing version. Moreover, the image also hints of its redesigned dashboard, while the instrument cluster is similar, indicating early stage of development.

The second generation Duster is reportedly coming at this year’s Paris Motor Show and is expect to go on sale in Europe in 2017 and in India in 2018. Stay tuned for more updates on the second generation Duster.
