Adele ignored record label emails as a teenager

Adele says she spent years ignoring emails from record companies eager to sign her up because she was convinced the messages were fake.

London: British singer Adele says she spent years ignoring emails from record companies eager to sign her up because she was convinced the messages were fake.
The 23-year-old recorded songs as a student at school and a friend uploaded the demos to her MySpace page, reported Contactmusic. "My friend set up a Myspace page for my music, but I was 14 or 15 and I wasn`t really interested in it. But it was part of my course at school to learn how to use recording equipment, so I`d record these demos then I`d give them to my friend Lyndon, and he started putting them on the internet. "He kept saying to me `I think you`ve got an email from someone at Sony.` But I kept saying, `Oh, it`s probably just fake,` so he didn`t reply. "Then later when I checked, I had all of these emails from record companies. Then three days later I was in the offices of XL Recordings, who ended up signing me," Adele said. PTI
