Noida: The chemistry between Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey in the 2007 film ‘Bheja Fry’ is remembered by everyone and Vinay admits he is missing his close friend in the sequel ‘Bheja Fry 2’.
"I definitely miss Ranvir Shorey. But he was not required in the story. However, I am told that there will be another story where they will incorporate him," Vinay told reporters here Tuesday.
He was here to promote his film and was accompanied by co-star Minissha Lamba. The film releases Friday.
Vinay has been good friends with Ranvir ever since they anchored the Channel V show ‘OYE’ in the 1990s. Both of them were seen together in films like ‘Dasvidaniya’, and ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ among others. While ‘Bheja Fry’ had Rajat Kapoor, Milind Soman and Ranvir, the sequel will see Minissha, Kay Kay Menon and Suresh Menon sharing screen space with Vinay.
Vinay is known for his perfect comic timing, but it seems the actor doesn`t like being branded a comedian.
"First of all, I am not a comedian. I consider myself an actor. A majority of films that I have done are not comic roles. It’s just ‘Bheja Fry’ and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ where I played comic roles that I was branded as a comedian," he said.
"Because ‘Bheja Fry’ in 2007 was such a huge hit, people don`t talk about ‘Johnny Gaddar’, ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’, or ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’. I am actor and whatever story attracts me and appeals to me, I take that up and try to do justice to it to the best of my ability and talent," he added.
