Toyota recalls 803K US vehicles over air bag troubles
The company further said that the power steering assist function could also become inoperable.
Melbourne: Toyota has reportedly recalled 803,000 vehicles in the United States due to problems with air bags and power steering.
The affected model, which includes the Camry and Camry hybrid, Avalon and Avalon hybrid and Venza, from 2012 and 2013 have been recalled by the Toyota dealers, News.com.au reports.
Toyota said water from the air conditioning condenser could leak onto the air bag control module leading to a short circuit.
This problem could illuminate the air bag warning light, disable the air bag or cause them to set out by accident.
The company further said that the power steering assist function could also become inoperable, if the air bag control module is damaged, making the vehicles difficult to turn.
