Britney Spears wanted $3 mn more for `The X Factor`

Los Angeles: Singer Britney Spears reportedly asked for a $3 million hike in salary to judge the third season of American singing reality show ‘The X Factor’.

When her demand was turned down, Spears stayed away from the show. If she would have got the $3 million hike, her salary would have become $18 million. "When producers asked if she wanted to return for a third season of `The X Factor`, Britney`s representatives said she would only come back if she was offered $18 million," radaronline.com quoted a source as saying. "But after much deliberation, they just felt that Britney wasn`t worth that much because she wasn`t bringing enough to the table. Her performance as a judge was scrutinised, and she did not add anything to the show. They felt she didn`t warrant a $3 million pay hike," the source added. IANS
