Queen finds Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress display ‘horrid’

London: The Queen has described the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress display as “horrid”, after she and Kate were given a sneak preview of the exhibition.
The Queen was prompted to describe it as “horrible” after she saw the headless mannequin that was used to exhibit the gown. The dress, designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, is the centrepiece of the attraction. Made of ivory and white satin gazar, it is lit by 12 strong spotlights in the Palace’s Ballroom and appears to almost float in the air. It also features Kate’s veil and Cartier ‘Halo’ tiara, which was loaned to her by the Queen, placed above the figure. The monarch, who led the way into the Ballroom and stopped about 10 feet from the dress with Kate standing beside her, was heard saying “horrible” and then “horrid”. “It’s made to look very creepy,” the Telegraph quoted the Queen as saying. Kate countered with her own view and said it had a “3D effect”. ANI
