New Delhi: Lady Gaga has been accredited with a gold plaque by Universal Music India.
"We look forward to getting her to India to perform in the very near future, something she herself is terribly keen on," said Devraj Sanyal, Managing Director, Universal Music India, Saarc.
Sanyal and Sunil D`sa, the Vice President Marketing, Universal Music India, presented the 25-year-old singer with the plaque in Singapore.
"Lady Gaga is massive with the youth here in India and the response we have been getting is phenomenal and we are sure this album like The Fame & the Fame Monster will exceed all our expectations," Sanyal added.
Gaga`s latest album `Born This Way` which has spawned the hits ‘Born This Way’ and ‘Judas’ was released in May this year, has already sold over 1.5 million albums and 5.5 million singles worldwide.
In India too, the album has hit Gold status within just six weeks of release on physical format only. The Indian version of the new album `Born This Way` includes the ‘Born This Way -Indian Mix’ which is remixed by noted film music directors Salim- Sulaiman.
