Will Smith to do two sequels to `Independence Day`

London: Actor Will Smith, who was last seen in ‘Seven Pounds’, is all set to play Captain Steve Hiller Will in the sequels to hit sci-fi film ‘Independence Day’.Contactmusic.com reports the two sequels will be shot back-to-back in 2011 and director Roland Emmerich and writer Dean Devlin already have a story for the first sequel.

Fox co-chairman Tom Rothman has previously confirmed he wants to make a sequel to the sci-fi movie, which grossed over $800 million at the box office when it was released in 1996. Smith recently completed ‘The Karate Kid’, which stars his son Jaden Smith, 11. IANS
