'Soch Lo' is creating buzz post international recognition: Sartaj

Mumbai: Debutante actor-writer-director Sartaj Singh Pannu, whose film `Soch Lo` won applause at international venues, will be released in 13 languages. Sartaj feels the movie is creating the right noise in India primarily due to the praise it received during screenings in Los Angeles.
"The movie was screened in LA twice, and now that it has got international recognition, the film is creating a buzz in India. Usually, people think that if a film is screened abroad and liked by foreigners, then it must be good," Sartaj told reporters. "Also, post the LA screening, we are receiving loads of calls from abroad to release the film there. It will be released in Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English and in foreign languages like Spanish, Korean and others," he said. `Soch Lo` is the story of a wounded man left to die in a desert. He survives the ordeal but loses his identity. He then resorts to robbing solitary car drivers. "Nichola Ellis, the publicist who has handled films like `Gandhi` and `No Country for Old Men` is handling it there. Golden Globe Creations (GGC) will release the film in USA in Hindi (with English subtitles) for mainstream American audience," Sartaj said. On obstacles he faced for making the movie, Sartaj said, "Right from production to raising funds to marketing and distributing... finances was one of the biggest challenges and we raised it through the Internet." `Soch Lo` stars Pannu, Barkha Madan (a former Miss India finalist and actress), K P Nishan, Himanshu Kohli and model Iris Maity. The core team of the film has 27 graduates from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) who have contributed to areas like editing, music, sound and cinematography. The film releases on Aug 27. PTI
