Patna: The president of industry body CII, Adi Godrej, on Saturday called on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and highlighted that the state has immense potential for development in agro-based industries and tourism sectors, sources said.
The state government has developed basic infrastructure and came out with Industrial Promotion Policy, 2011, a measure that will bring in private investment for industrial development in Bihar, Godrej, who is also Chairman of Godrej group, told the chief minister, official sources said.
Godrej said Bihar has immense potential for development in agro-based industries and tourism sectors and CII would impress upon the corporate houses to invest in the state, they said.
He said the state's law and order situation, basic infrastructure development and sustained high growth in Bihar during NDA rule had impressed him.
Kumar sought his help to bring in private investment in the state as the "state government has created a right ambience for industrial development," the sources added.
