New Delhi: After working in southern films, Sachiin Joshi is debuting in Bollywood with `Azaan` and is confident about the response to the film as he feels Indian audiences appreciate good cinema irrespective of the cast of the movie.
"Indian audiences have become very intelligent now. I feel any good project or any good movie will be well-received by the audiences irrespective of the actors featuring in it," Sachin told reporters.
Releasing Sep 16, `Azaan`, an action-thriller, is about a man who goes beyond enemy lines as an informant to save the country from the threat of biological warfare.
Sachiin learnt martial art forms Krava Maga and Kalaripayattu for the role.
In `Azaan`, Sachin will be seen sharing screen space with the likes of Colombian pop star Shakira and South African model Candice Boucher, but says their presence doesn`t make him feel insecure.
"I don`t feel insecure at all. When you will watch the movie, you will see that everyone is playing a character and everyone`s role is equally important," said the actor.
"But if you see it the other way, the presence of these stars is promoting and marketing the movie really well. At the end of the day, it is the audiences who will decide the fate of the movie. We have given our best shot," he added.
Before bagging director Prashant Chadha`s `Azaan`, the 27-year-old actor worked in Telugu movies like `Mounamelanoyi`, `Ninu Choodaka Nenundalenu` and `Orey Pandu`.
At present, Sachiin is reading a few scripts and emphasises on the fact that he is not eager to work with big banners. What is most important for him right now is to focus on good scripts and prove his acting mettle, said the actor who is the son of Jagdish Joshi who used to own Goa Gutka.
"Let me clarify that we are no longer in this business. It was a passion of my father, but we sold it out 10 years ago. But I fail to understand why everyone is still referring to us with this gutka thing," Sachiin questioned.
"We have moved into the hospitality and construction business," he added.
