Singer Lily Allen`s eco mishap

London: British singer Lily Allen has run into trouble after she urged people to be more eco-aware and contradicted herself by buying a new `gas guzzling` vehicle. The 24-year-old singer believes it is essential for people to spend the next decade thinking of the impact their actions will have on the planet, a magazine reported.

"We all need to take a bit more responsibility for our carbon footprint. I`m trying but its hard," Allen said. However, the `Smile` hitmaker contradicted her statement after admitting the purchase of an environmentally un-friendly car. "I`ve just bought a new Land Rover. It`s a gas guzzler, but I spend a lot of time in the countryside near my dad, so I feel I need it," Allen said. The singer had recently stated that she is planning to make a country music album before she decides to take a break from pop music. PTI
