He will report to Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer John Byrne, it added.

In this role, Kwon will be responsible for AMD's operations and sales across the APJ region, representing 11 countries -- Korea, Japan, India, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

"David has done an outstanding job, driving end-to-end accountability with a focus on helping ensure AMD-powered Samsung and Toshiba products win in the marketplace," Byrne said.
