I want to carry on her legacy: Amy Winehouse`s goddaughter

London: Amy Winehouse`s goddaughter Dionne Bromfield has said she would love to follow in her idol`s musical footsteps.
The 17-year-old shared her memories of the tragic star for the first time since her death 18 moths ago, reported Mirror Online. "I want to continue Amy`s legacy. It`s an awful lot of pressure but also a massive compliment to think that I can. I was the last person she was with on stage and automatically people felt like that was saying something," she said. To get inspiration for her third album and pay tribute to Winehouse, who died on July 23, 2011, soul singer Bromfield went to the Caribbean island, which is known as Winehouse`s second home. On her trip, she also met Winehouse`s "second mama" Marjorie Lambert, 58, who runs a bar next to Cotton Bay Village Resort, where Winehouse lived on and off for almost three years. The singer was in the middle of adopting Lambert`s granddaughter Dannika Augustine when she died. "This is a gift from God. I have been waiting for this day and I am so happy. Amy would always talk about Dionne. I`ve been dreaming about Amy which I think is her way of telling me she is still here," Lambert said. Bromfield has paid tribute to her godmother by writing a song about her for her upcoming third album. "The song is called Black Butterfly. There was a black butterfly that flew in at Amy`s funeral and it landed on Kelly Osbourne`s shoulder. It stayed there for the whole service then flew out as soon as the service had finished. It`s probably the best song I`ve ever written and I was crying when I recorded it," she said. PTI
