For all those animation lovers, who are desperately awaiting the arrival of a sci-fi flick, ‘Monsters vs Aliens’ is a welcome respite! Directed by Rob Letterman and Conrad Vernon, ‘Monsters vs Aliens’ is a visual treat that showcases amazing 3D graphics through an array of flying aliens and falling fireballs on the silver screen that definitely leave you gasping for more!
Indeed, the highlight of the movie is its 3D effect that is extremely successful in recreating astonishing imagery that pulls you right into the thick of action rather than leaving you behind as mere spectators!
In terms of storyline, ‘Monsters Vs Aliens’ is a straight comic book rip off, where a pack of outlandish characters set out to save the world - using their eccentricity as their only weapon. Nevertheless, these oddball characters are called monsters and dubbed as bad guys, who are incarcerated because they scare humans! Susan (voiced by actress Reese Witherspoon), a would-be-bride hit by a meteor gets mutated into Ginormica – a 50-feet majestic Platinum blonde, who becomes powerful due to genetic mutation in her DNA. With a superhuman would-be-bride, the dwarfed groom dumps her and the government locks her up along with the rest of the monstrous tribe, which comprises of the blob, BOB, the Missing Link, Dr Cockroach and Insectosaurus.
Amidst all this, there is a stressed out US president, who cannot differentiate between his cup-of-latte button and nuclear button and asks the monster brigade to save the world from a one eyed robot and his evil master ET - who wants to conquer the world.
Here comes the mighty Susan and her battery of psychedelic mutants entering Galazhar’s (voiced by Rainn Wilson) region to teach him a lesson!
‘Monsters Vs Aliens’ is a delightful animation flick and a visual treat for children this summer. So, get your popcorn and enjoy the monsters’ attempt to save the world from evil forces.
