London: Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham says the quality of her designs can never be criticised because she refused to compromise with her creations.
When the former Spice Girls star launched her first collection for her Victoria Beckham line in 2008, she was met with a lot of opposition because people just assumed she was another celebrity putting her name to a clothing range.
"When I was starting out I remember Marc Jacobs saying, `As long as the quality is great, then people can say it`s not their personal taste, but they can`t say that it`s rubbish.` And that`s very true," contactmusic.com quoted the 37-year-old as saying.
Victoria also says that she is very proud of her fashion label but is stunned at how well it has done over the past three years.
"In the first collection we produced 400 dresses and we had nine retail partners internationally, and now we`re producing about 500 pieces with all categories in just over 300 stores worldwide. Though I`m trying to take baby steps, the business is growing very quickly. Our turnover year-over-year has increased over 120 percent. I think to anyone`s standards that`s very impressive," she added.
