`Aisha` is modern and stylish: Anil Kapoor

London: Bollywood star Anil Kapoor says `Aisha`, based on the Jane Austen`s novel `Emma`, is a romantic comedy "made by young people" that captures the spirit and style of modern Indians.

"Indian families are obsessed with match-making. Parents are obsessed with match-making for their sons and daughters and it is completely like a ritual. We are confident that people will enjoy the film," Kapoor said here last night. Kapoor is happy that his elder daughter Sonam, who is playing the lead role in the film, is doing extremely well. His younger daughter Rhea Kapoor produced the film in 67 days. "The film has been shot entirely in New Delhi on a moderate budget. Aisha captures the spirit, sentiments and style of modern India and its upper class, with a production crew with an average age of 23," the 50-year-old star said. Kapoor, who shot to global fame with his role of a quiz-master in `Slumdog Millionaire` said the film will show the world of "rich and famous" in Delhi. Describing it as a "feel good film" Sonam said, "the film will make you smile, make you happy. It will make you realize that though getting married to the right guy is important, in life you just fall in love and when you fall in love, you don`t choose." Sonam returned yesterday morning from Scotland where she is shooting for her next film `Mausam`, directed by Pankaj Kapoor and, produced by Sheetal Talwar. Shahid Kapoor plays the lead role. The film, jointly produced by Anil Kapoor Films company, PVR Pictures and Cinergy Films, will have a world-wide release on August 6. Directed by Rajshree Ojha and starring Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol, Ira Dubey, Amrita Puri, Cyrus Sahukar and Arunoday Singh. "Emma was all about class, money and connections. Aisha is the same, with the same differences between the classes. Our film, just like Emma, is a romantic comedy of errors, confusion, mystery and intrigue." The story revolves around Aisha, who pursues her tireless matchmaking amid the class and money-obsessed society of 21st century India. Aisha is a girl with a simple diktat - everyone`s business is her business. Arjun (Abhay Deol) is a boy with an even more candid belief - Aisha should mind her own business. Caught in Delhi`s upper class world with its own set of social rules and trappings, Aisha navigates the high life with a great sense of style and even greater optimism. Caught in her web are best friend Pinky (Ira Dubey), small town girl Shefali (Amrita Puri), West Delhi boy Randhir (Cyrus Sahukar) and hunk Dhruv (Arunoday Singh).
