Beyonce to be Artistic Director of the Gucci Charity concert

Los Angeles: Pop sensation Beyonce Knowles has joined hands with Gucci and has agreed to be Artistic Director as well as a performer for their upcoming charity concert `Sound of Change` which aims to raise funds for women and girls across the globe.

Other than the 31-year-old singer the concert will also feature performances of Florence and the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, John Legend, Rita Ora, Laura Pausini, Timbaland ,reported Hollywood reporter. "Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible. I am excited for us to come together on June 1 to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage," Beyonce said. Gucci`s creative director Frida Giannini said, "This is the emergency and the opportunity of today. We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls` and women`s empowerment, and now is the time for change." The concert will be held on June 1, 2013 in London and will be broadcasted globally. PTI
