Beyonce thought she would be ‘retired by 30’

Beyonce Knowles never expected to be as successful as she is.

Wellington: Beyonce Knowles has revealed she never expected to be as successful as she is, and thought she would retire young.

The 29-year-old RandB sensation has confessed she never thought she would be so ambitious though, and originally planned to quit working early on in life, reports a website. "This is really funny but when I was younger I thought I’d be retired by 30," laughed the star in an interview with the British edition of Cosmopolitan. "Now I’m nearly there I can’t believe how much more I want to do." I never imagined I’d have as much success as I’ve had. I thought it would be great just to get a record out," she smiled. She added: "I never imagined the extent of what I’ve achieved. I never imagined the awards, the movies... I still can’t believe it. I’m grateful for all of it and don’t take it for granted. When I do something, I try and do it as well as I can." The beautiful star shot to fame in the 90s as the lead singer of girl band 'Destiny’s Child'. She has gone on to become one of the world’s most successful female solo artists, with albums such as 2008``s ‘I Am... Sasha Fierce’ earning her numerous Grammy Awards. ANI
