Prince William, Kate kick off US tour with Beckham

After a nine-day tour of Canada, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton have kicked off their US tour with a friend who knows all about kick-offs - David Beckham.

London: After a nine-day tour of Canada, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton have kicked off their US tour with a friend who knows all about kick-offs - David Beckham.
Becks greeted the royal couple alone at a star-studded reception in Los Angeles as wife Posh is due to give birth any minute. That prompted William to tell him: "Send all our love to Victoria." Their meeting came at a reception at British consul`s LA residence. "Victoria really wanted to come but she is just so tired at the moment. She sent you both lots of love," the `News of the World` online quoted Beckham as telling the second-in- line to the British throne. William, 29, replied: "Don`t be silly, send her all our love and tell her good luck with it all." Talking about the imminent arrival, Becks added: "I woke up on Wednesday to a ton of messages from our friends congratulating me on the birth of our daughter. I turned to Victoria and said, `Did I miss something?` "It`s being reported every day she`s already been born. Fingers crossed, she`ll be with us in next few days." The previous day, Wills and Kate were alongside stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman at a Bafta event to promote UK talent. Their tour, which began on Friday, was the first time Kate, 29, had set foot on US soil. PTI
