London: The news of Beyonce expecting her first child has set a new Twitter record for the highest amount of tweets posted per second.
According to a spokesman for the San Francisco-based service, when the 29-year-old singer artist made the announcement at the MTV Video Music Awards, she set Twitter ablaze with a record 8,868 tweets per second. The ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’ singer first appeared on the red carpet at the awards ceremony, posing for photographers and using her arms to outline the baby bump from her long gown. The R and B recording artist also took off her jacket and rubbed her tummy performing her song ‘Love On Top’ and broke the news to the audience by asking them to “feel the love” growing inside of her. “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me,” the Telegraph quoted her as saying. The previous highest number of tweets posted per second was during the Women’s football World Cup final earlier this year, between Japan and America. ANI
