Mumbai: Actor Arshad Warsi is looking forward to play a conman in Ken Ghosh`s upcoming film alongside R Madhavan.
The actor would be teaming up with R Madhavan for the first time on big screen for Ghosh`s yet-to-be-titled film.
"The film with Ken Ghosh is about two conmen. It has R Madhavan and me. The movie is based in Haryana. We will start working on it this year after I complete `Dedh Ishqiya`," Arshad told reporters.
Reportedly, Aditi Rao Hydari will be playing the female lead in this film.
Arshad will also be seen playing a dacoit in another film titled `Chambal Safari`, a wacky satire, and unlike what the film`s title may suggest, it is not a violent or a dark film.
The movie is about a bunch of dacoits in Chambal who are going through a lean phase as bandits and all this leads to certain funny situations.
In `Chambal Safari` Arshad would be playing the role of a dacoit but in misery.
"I play a dacoit... It is not a negative sort of character. He is a dacoit in misery... Who has a gun but can`t afford bullets. It`s a beautiful film... A satire, a reality," Arshad said.
"They (dacoits) are so poor in real life. It is the realities that will make everyone laugh. The film is about the dream of this dacoit to one day walk out and be welcomed by the whole village, but nobody comes forward. He is bad and sad," he said.
Aamir Khan was reportedly approached for this film initially.
Arshad will begin shooting for the film from September in Chambal.
"The film needs a particular kind of weather. We will shoot in September-October-November in Chambal, as that is the best time for the shoot. It is very interesting. I liked the script," he said.
Maqbool Khan, who made the critically acclaimed `Kabootar` followed by `Lanka`, is directing `Chambal Safari`.
