Washington: While Victoria Beckham has replaced Paula Abdul as the latest guest judge on the ‘American Idol’, her criticism of the participants singing talents would be sensitive, quite like her compassionate predecessor.Abdul won praise as a sympathetic and kind judge, unlike fellow judge Simon Cowell, who was often very blunt in his appraisals of the contestants` performances.
And now Posh has said that her approach towards judging the contestants would be warm and sensitive.
"What I’m going to bring to the table is [that] I’ve been there, I‘ve done these auditions. It is nerve racking, petrifying," Fox News quoted Beckham as saying at the Denver Idol auditions last week.
She added: "[My approach] is very sensitive. I’m just going to want to run out and give them a big hug. I Like I said I really I know how it feels, there is nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism but I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings, but I’m not going to be silly either and I’m not going to put up with anything."
And the style diva is set to deal with Cowell’s brutish behaviour on the show.
"I’ve been warned that Simon’s likely to beat me up slightly and I love that I have a British sense of humour. I’m quite welcoming to that. I told my kids ‘mommy’s going to do `American Idol’. And they said ‘really what are you going to sing?’ I was like ‘no no no, I’m going to be judging. They really thought that I was going to be singing," she added.
