New York: Russell Crowe, who is currently shooting for a new ‘Robinhood’ movie, showed his benevolent nature by giving 5,000 pounds to a crew member after her car went up in flames.
According to a news website, Denise Yarde, a boom mike operator was on the way to work in London when her car caught fire. Apparently, the ‘Gladiator’ star first made a joke at her expense, in response to which Yarde reportedly replied: "Well, I suppose it`s okay for you Russell. You`ve probably never had to worry about finding five grand for a new car." However, the actor felt bad for her and later gave her 5,000 pounds, which amounts to 8000 US dollars, to buy a new car, a news daily reports. He reportedly said, "There you go. You can buy a 10,000 dollar car now." Yarde was joyous and hugged Crowe before going out to buy a 2007 Saab. The film directed by Ridley Scott has Cate Blanchett opposite Crowe. ANI
