I prefer hosting reality shows: Jay Soni

New Delhi: Jay Soni, who gained popularity with his role as Ishaan in ‘Sasural Genda Phool’, is ready to shake a leg in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5’. But the TV actor says he prefers hosting reality shows instead of participating in them.
“‘Jhalak...1’ is my first reality show as a contestant. I am excited about it. If the offers will be good, I may take up other reality shows in future. But on the whole, I prefer hosting a reality show rather than participating in it,” Jay said. The 25-year-old has earlier anchored music reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L`il Champs’ 2011. In ‘Jhalak...’, he will be competing with singer Neha Bhasin, actors Rashmi Desai, Avika Gaur, Karan Wahi and Rithvik Dhanjani for a wild card entry in the dance reality show. Jay didn`t mind taking up the show as his hands are free for now. "The reason I agreed for `Jhalak..` is that I have ample time to rehearse. I am not doing any fiction show right now, so I can have the energy to devote in the dance practice," he said. His fiction show ‘Sasural Genda Phool’, in which he shared screen space with Ragini Khanna, came to an end in April. He says offers haven`t stopped coming his way ever since. "I have been getting a lot of offers, but I don`t get carried away and don`t just take up whatever comes my way. I think from my heart and only if I feel I can portray a particular character, I do it," he said. Jay feels the level of competition on the show is very high, and he is especially amazed with Isha Sharvani`s flexible twists. He knows it`s going to be tough. "The level of the show is so high that one cannot afford to do simple steps and take it lightly. The challenge that you have to push yourself to the limit and just do the best you can," he said. "I`ve seen Isha`s performances. She is so good. Her body is so flexible, just like a rubber band. She has trained for 15 years. We can`t learn all that in 15 days," said Jay. IANS
