I am happy to have missed out `Twilight`: Shiloh Fernandez

Los Angeles: Shiloh Fernandez is glad he missed out the lead role in the `Twilight` series because it would have been hard for him to deal with the attention later on. The 25-year-old actor, who was one of the four front-runners to play Edward Cullen in the highly successful vampire franchise, is convinced he would not be mentally stable enough to deal with the massive cult following, reported celebrity website Just Jared.
Fernandez is however grateful for the opportunities he has received after turning down the offer. "No one had any idea what Twilight would become. At the time, it was just another audition. I didn`t realise I was missing out on stardom and giant pay cheques. "Now, looking back on it, I certainly wouldn`t have been mentally stable enough to deal with all that. Lucky for me, not getting that part led to other work that was a much better fit for me," he said. The actor will be next seen in the upcoming movie `Red Riding Hood` to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke. PTI
