`Breaking News Live` not a `commercial` film, says director

Director of the Malayalam film `Breaking News Live`, Sudheer Ambalapat, said the movie was made with good intentions and it was not a `commercial` one.

Kozhikode: Director of the Malayalam film `Breaking News Live`, Sudheer Ambalapat, said the movie was made with good intentions and it was not a `commercial` one.
Ambalapat, a journalist who made his directorial debut with the film, said making a movie was not a problem. Reaching the films in cinema-halls proved to be a bigger problem, he said.
About six films are being produced every week, he said, adding the number of theatres in the state was coming down. "Even if the films by the newcomers are good, they are finding difficulties in exhibiting it as the number of theatres are coming down," he said. Ambalapat said he was inspired by the life of Soumya, a 23-year-old girl who was brutally raped and murdered during a train journey. The film was released in 60 theatres across the state, he said. Besides Kavya Madhavan, the other actors in the film include Vineeth, Mythili, Thilakan and Devan. The lyrics are by Premadas, his brother, Ambalapat said. PTI
