London: Fans snapped up all the 65,000 tickets for the Rolling Stones` gig in London`s Hyde Park, this summer, in just three minutes - even though the cheapest were priced at 95 pounds.
Fans bought the tickets at an astonishing rate of 360-a-second, the Daily Express reported. AEG Live promoter Rob Hallett said that the response to the concert had been "incredible." He said that they sold out at the speed the system could handle and if it could have handled it in seconds, they would have probably been sold out in seconds. He added that the band wanted the regular ticket-holders to be right at the front of the stage staring at the whites of their eyes, not 200 yards away, so the people who have bought hospitality packages, priced at 299 pounds, will get looked after in a way that they have never known before. Rolling Stones will headline the gig on July 6 almost 44 years to the day they played a famous free concert in the central London Park. The concert is part of the band`s biggest tour in the past six years. ANI
