Criticism about my nasal voice used to upset me: Reshammiya

Mumbai: He preferred calling it high-pitched singing, but everyone else branded composer-singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya`s voice as nasal singing, something that used to hurt him deeply. "When people used to tell me that you have a nasal touch in your singing, I used to feel very bad. When you sing in high pitch, some notes do get a slight nasal touch, but one can`t brand that nasal singing altogether.
"I used to think that my songs are becoming hit still people are criticising my singing. I wanted to give my singing the name of high-pitched voice, but so many people criticised me. I was hurt," Reshammiya told IANS. In his forthcoming film "Radio", the 36-year-old has crooned songs in two distinct voices. One in his trademark high-pitch voice and the other in a lower octave without the nasal touch. IANS
