Melbourne: Fans of ‘Star Wars’ were exhilarated to see a never-before seen lost clip of the third version of the series ‘Return of the Jedi’ during a New York festival.
The footage, which is less than a minute long, shows Darth Vader on the Death Star as he beckons his son, Luke Skywalker, to join him on the Dark Side.
One can hear Vader’s famously booming voice calling him and Luke is seen standing in a cave, on his home planet of Tatooine, putting the finishing touches on his light-saber.
The crowd, at Star Wars Celebration V in Orange County, Florida, erupted in cheers at the feat, which symbolizes the final step in Luke’s transformation into a Jedi Knight, according to American blog Gawker.com that posted the 55 seconds video.
Luke then turns the weapon on with droids R2-D2, next to him, and C-3PO in the background, reports The Daily Telegraph.
