Los Angeles: Superhit films like `Shakespeare in Love`, `The Amityville Horror` and `Bad Santa` are set to get a second outing in theatres thanks to a deal between Miramax and Weinstein Company.
Other titles which will get a sequel are `From Dusk Till Dawn`, `Swingers`, `Rounders`, `Clerks`, and `The Bridget Jones Diary`.
The new films are a result of producers Harvey and Bob Weinstein gaining control of Miramax`s company`s library, reported Los Angeles Times online.
Weinstein Co. will now produce sequels or spin-offs to 10 well-known movies produced by Harvey and his brother Bob but now owned by the new management of Miramax Films.
"We are very close to these films, and the new management of Miramax also feels that we are in the best position to create sequels that are worthy and compelling in their own right," said the film moguls in a statement.
A second `Shakespeare in Love` is one of several projects Weinstein identified as a top priority in the agreement with Miramax, along with follow-ups to the poker drama `Rounders` and the dark comedy `Bad Santa`.
The film mogul said he would approach original actors, writers and directors for every film, but the only actors he had had discussions with already were `Rounders` stars Matt Damon and Edward Norton.
