Former CJI Kapadia joins BSE board as public interest director

Mumbai: Former Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia has joined the board of directors of leading stock exchange, BSE, as a public interest director.

"The Board of Directors of BSE Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of S H Kapadia, former Chief Justice of India, as Public Interest Director on the Board of the exchange with effect from January 29, 2013," the bourse said in a statement Wednesday.

Kapadia retired as Chief Justice of India in September 2012. He was elevated to the bench of Supreme Court of India in 2003.

Prior to his role as Supreme Court's chief justice, he also served as Chief Justice of Uttaranchal High Court, Additional and Permanent Judge at Bombay High Court, Judge of the Special Court.
