Ryan Reynolds takes up Cruise`s role

London: Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds is set to take over from superstar Tom Cruise in `Motorcade` after the superstar dropped out of the project.`Motorcade`, an action thriller sees the actor – who is married to Scarlett Johannson - playing a disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the US president is kidnapped in New York, Femalefirst reported

Cruise reportedly decided to give the project a miss to star in `Wichita`, an action comedy starring Cameron Diaz. Produced by Steven Speilberg`s DreamWorks, `Motorcade` will be directed by Jon Cassar, who helmed and produced `24` episodes. The `X-Men Origins: Wolverine` actor is set to star in another untitled comic flick in which he will disguise himself as a woman in order to befriend his ex-girlfriend in a bid to win her back.
