Amy Winehouse’s ex lover remembers her during ‘The Voice’ audition

London: Amy Winehouse’s former lover and best friend Tyler James, who is trying out his luck in ‘The Voice’, said that the late singer is with him in his heart.

James was often seen in paparazzi pictures walking alongside Amy Winehouse during nights out. He talked about his close friendship with her, which started when they were in their early teens and developed into an on-off romance. “When I was a teenager my best friend was Amy Winehouse,” the Mirror quoted him as saying during a pre-performance interview. “We became friends when we were like 12…13. “We both went to the same school - we’ve been best friends since then. We were like two peas in a pod, we were like two halves of the same person,” he said. He also talked about the tragic events at the end of last year, when the singer was found dead in her home, describing it as “the worst day of my life.” “Amy died and my whole life changed. Now she’s here,” he says quietly as he taps his chest, “she’s here with me and it’s about me finding my own feet and it’s through music it’s through singing. “This competition is about me building up my confidence. There’s a lot riding on this,” he added before going on stage to blind audition for ‘The Voice’ judges. ANI
