All you people who have been waiting for ‘Ninja Assassin’ to come out for long, there’s some bad news, for director James McTiegue is sure to disappoint you all with this one. ‘Ninja Assassin’ is nothing more than a tiresome blood-dripping saga. It can be called a homicidal plot, which is based around the Ozunu Clan, presided by the treacherous Lord Ozunu (played by Sho Kosugi). The clan swipes youngsters for hideout training as cold-blooded killers in the service of a criminal gang. But things change when an obedient orphan trainee Raizo (played by Rain) witnesses the slaughter of his child soldier girlfriend Kiriko (Kylie Goldstein). She attempts to run away and Raizo flees the ethnic compound as well with revenge at the back of his mind. After relocating to Berlin, Raizo makes the most of his undercover talent for sniffing out his adversaries. But the malicious clan is hunting him down as well, which keeps Raizo on a high alert at all times. Eventually, Raizo joins Europol Agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) to intercept the advancing Ozuno Clan, who appear to be conspiring in an elaborate scheme to take over international banking. Point one- the story is so confusing that by the time you gauge it, the movie ends. Point two - mass murder has never seemed so tedious. What you do have in the end is a conclusion that Korean martial arts isn’t enough to make you sit through this one. Call it ignorable. Rating: Two stars
